This room cares for 25 children aged between 2.5- 3.5 years of age.
The staffing ratio in this room is calculated using the combination of 1 educator to every 4 children under 3 years old, and 1 educator to every 11 children over 3 years old.
Educators provide a busy stimulating program for the children based on their interest and emerging developmental needs. Once the children reach this room, they then have access to a yard shared with the older children. This can offer many opportunities to further challenge and support the children’s growing developmental needs.
Children are able to sleep and rest if required. Many of the children in this room are still in nappies, supplied by the centre, and some commence toilet training while in this room, when both the parents and staff feel the individual child is ready.
